Acala: Polkadot's (Likely) Inaugural Tenant

The launch of Kusama parachains means Polkadot parachains are on the horizon. And Karura’s sister chain Acala is expected to be the first in line. Acala intends to be the "Defi Hub of Polkadot," providing cross-chain, open finance infrastructure for the Polkadot ecosystem. It is a layer 1 blockchain customized to support financial use cases and plans to launch with a handful of built-in applications to bootstrap the network and incentivize adoption.
